Free Printable: March 4x6 Calendar

Well it is getting to the end of the month and you know what that means, time for another 4x6 calender for the next month. There isn't much to explain about this one since you guys get them ever month. I hope you all enjoy it.

You can get the calendar here.

Again these are for 2015 I just did not put that because I am lazy....actually I just forgot about the fact that it would have made since to add the year, or make it blank so that you could re-use them every year. But that was an after thought. I will think more on that the next time I make a set of these.

See you on Monday for another post!

AHS Makeup Series: After thoughts

At the beginning of January I embarked of a journey that I had never taken with makeup. I decided to actually do a makeup series. This was something I had never done before and I thought it was going to be a lot different of an experience than it actually was. I have roughly 130 subscribers on YouTube, though even through just looking at my video view most of them do not actually watch my videos. I was trying to come up with a new way to get my viewers to start falling back in love with my videos. With my love for American Horror Story I thought why not give makeup inspired by the show a thought. So without too much planning and absolutely no indication of the project to viewers I began this series.

I did finish the entire series up in January, which may have been a down fall and I probably should have spread them out more, but because I had put so much energy into making the videos for the series I was not left with much time to make videos to upload in between to make the series last longer. If you haven't seen the series yet and you are curious to see it you can find them all in a playlist over on my YouTube Channel. Also here are some pictures of the looks to get you all interested if you have not seen them yet.

I do have to admit that although filming these looks generally took a long time to do they were actually pretty fun to film. I pushed myself to do some things with makeup that I had never done before and even though they did not all turn out super amazing like some trained makeup artist from the show did them I am proud of what I did.

As I said above filming was pretty long for these looks. I want to say seasons 1,2,and 4 all took at least 30-40 minutes to do the makeup. Then I had to do the intros and outros and hope that some how I stayed in the frame of the video. That has always been my down fall when filming in the locations I do in my room is that because there is no mirror behind my camera, just a window, I can't actually see if I am in frame or not. Thankfully I did a pretty decent time staying in frame, at least compared to how it could have gone.

Editing was how do I say it, kind of terrible. I have been editing videos on movie maker for about 4 years and I still can't seem to get all the cuts correct. Now that is mostly because I talk really fast and take like no breaths so it is hard for me to cut in the exact spot I want, because I will either cut out half of what I said, or have repeats of the same thing over and over about a million times before I even get what I want right. Which is why for all of these videos I just did voice overs. Trust me those in themselves are kind of hard, but they are not as terrible as when I try to actually talk while I do my makeup.

The viewer response to these videos however was actually kind of sad. They didn't get very many views despite me shoving them out all over my twitter, even right before and after AHS episodes were on on Wednesday nights. For all the hard work I put into it it was sad to see that even putting out this series my subscribers did not seem to even watch them.

Over all I would probably do another series of videos again. However I am not likely to try to do them anytime soon since it seems that not enough people are watching my videos for me to benefit from doing them. This whole series was a learning experience for me and I am glad that I did it, even if it did kind of crash and burn.

If you guys liked the videos you can leave comments on them or go ahead and leave them here. I would love to talk to you guys some more than I do.

Free Printable: Daily To Do

It is Thursday again which means it is finally that time of the week again, a free printable! Alright now here is the deal with this week's free printable. I originally made it for my own personal use, and after deciding that keeping my to do list in my binder was not going to work for me I quickly decided that I would give it to you guys. I have used this to do list, so don't think I don't like it. I just now keep all of my to do lists in one little notebook I can carry around in my purse. I also figured that some of you guys might like the daily to do list so why keep it for myself.

You can download this printable here

This to do list was made to fit an 8x11 piece of paper, however you can make it smaller if you need to. Just resize it before you print. If you are having trouble with knowing how to do that please ask me I am more than willing to help. Now also as a side note I have no idea why the little gray line is at the bottom of it, because it didn't show up until after I saved it. If it bothers you just mention it and I will try to get it off of the bottom, but I didn't think it would be that huge of a deal.

There you are with this weeks free printable. For more random things, like a planner overview video go check out my YouTube channel and leave me a comment letting me know you guys visited.

Until next time,

Take time to do the things you love

Do you ever just sit down and think about how busy you have actually been and then realize you have neglected things that you love to do? Well that is how today has been for me. I have been neglecting blogging recently, not because I want to but because I just get some much going on at once here at school that I forget to take a moment to do what I want to do.

You guys probably have not noticed the lack of me doing things with my blog because my posts have been pre-scheduled up until this point and though I still have my free printables scheduled to go up I don't have anymore Monday blogs scheduled because I haven't just taken the time to sit down and do them. So that is what I am doing today, starting with this post. For the rest of this post I want to talk to you guys about why you should take time to do what you love, even if it means putting some other things off until later.

I will be the first to tell you that giving up doing what you love for more time to do the things that you need to do sounds like a good idea when you first start to do it, but after awhile it is going to start getting boring. Yeah we all have things we have to do, like homework or cleaning a house, but you can not tell me that you haven't ever just felt down and depressed because that is all you are ever doing. Taking time to do the things you love is essential for being happy. You have to have a happy medium between work and play, but all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Has anyone else ever heard that? I don't remember where I heard that but for some reason it just came to mind while I was writing this.

So how do you make time for doing the things you love when we live in a busy world of way to much else to do ? I have a few ideas on that for you, though I am not an expert on time management even if I like to pretend I am sometimes.
  1.  Make to-do lists.
    • If you are a college student or even a high school student that gets a syllabus at the beginning of the semester that has all of the do dates for your homework and projects use it to your advantage. At the begging of the week make a list of all the tasks you need to do and what days they have to be done by. Then make yourself a weekly to-do list and schedule out the things you have to get done on a specific day of the week. You don't have to follow this completely to a tee but it will help you make sure you aren't rushing to get everything done all at one, and subsequently give you more time to do the things you like to do.
    • If you are a parent or an adult with a job you can pretty much use the same system above, but since I am not a working adult and I am just in college I am not sure exactly if that system will work. You might have to modify it a bit to meet how you are given your schedules since you may not get deadlines for projects at work way ahead of time. I know my mom doesn't.
  2. Don't over schedule yourself
    • This kind of goes hand in hand with making to-do lists. If you know that you have 3 things going on one day and you can only handle doing that many things don't try to schedule in anymore. If you can't stay focused for more than 2 hours don't try to get a while project done in one day that's going to take you 6 hours. That is more of a time management and correctly learning to manage projects but if you are trying to make time for things for yourself then it goes along with what we are talking about.
  3. Put the rest of the project/to-do off until tomorrow
    • If all else fails and you sit down to do homework or clean or do a project and you realize that you have no desire to do it then get up and go read a book or watch a tv show or write your blog posts. If you are giving yourself enough time to do the project then a day or two without the want to do it isn't going to kill you
Throughout all of this I just want you guys to realize that even though we have other priorities that may seem more important than me time they are not always. The world will not stop spinning if you take some time to do the things you want to do. The sun is still going to come up in the morning and you are still going to have another day to do what you needed to get done.

Just give yourself a little bit of a break. Going at things head one for long periods of time works in the beginning but eventually you will get burned out, and you will wish that you had taken the brakes you needed to do things for yourself.

Until next time,

Free Printable: Meal Planner

Today I wanted to give you guys something that would be useful for moms as well as anyone that just like to plan out their meals. I put together a really simple meal planner for you guys. It has every day of the week on it and there are faint lines so that you can try to keep things straight, for those of you with issues writing in a straight line like me.

You can get the meal planner here. As with all of the printables this can be resized when you print it off.
Being in college I am not the best at planning meals, mostly because we have a dining hall and we never know what they are serving until they get there.  I know that when I have my own apartment though that I will be using a meal planner like crazy to be able to plan out what I need to buy at the store and how to budget that all out. Which is why I wanted to go ahead and make this one available to you guys. Since I am not the meal planning queen I am not sure exactly how most people would like one set up. If you have another idea on how to set up a meal planner for a future post please let me know in the comments.

See you all in two weeks with another exciting post, my January Favorites,

No Posts Next Week

I thought about this really hard before I made the decision I did. Next week is the week of Valentine's day. Now yes that day is on Friday but I am heading home on Friday to spend the weekend with my boyfriend since at this point I have been gone for a month. Now yes I could still do Free Printable Thrusday, but I really want to be able to get all of my work done before I leave for home. The only way to do that is to be able to take a break from making printables this week.

I know a lot of people are probably wondering why I don't just make printables ahead of time, and the reality is I do. But I can only make about a months worth of printables head of time before I need to take a break and re group on what I make. Plus I just started doing this series so I do have to make things from scratch. I do plan in the future to have more printables created ahead of time so that things like this don't happen every time I go home.

I hope you all understand where I am coming from. As much as I love blogging I am a college student. My college work comes first, and for at least one weekend of a year my boyfriend comes before everything else. He puts up with a lot since I don't always have free time to spend with him. Most of the time when he comes over I am working at least part of the time on something blog or youtube related, and if I am in school at the time then school work goes to. So I have to give him priority when I can because he does put up with all of that.

I will see you in two weeks with another post,
